  • Money transfers cannot be used as proof of solvency. If a stranger asks for a copy of the application for sending a transfer or other information about the transaction, it may be a fraud attempt.
  • Do not make a transfer long before receiving it, for example, when planning a trip abroad.
  • Do not respond to calls, emails and SMS from money transfer systems asking you to send a transfer.
  • Do not respond to calls, emails or SMS messages about winning a lottery or a prize that requires sending a certain amount of money for registration, payment of taxes, customs duties, etc.
  • Make only secure express money transfers via PrivatBank.

What types of transfers are included in the taxable income?

For citizens of Ukraine, the amounts of transfers received from abroad (regardless of the method of receiving a transfer, i.e. crediting to the current (including card) account, in cash)) are the income on which you have to pay personal income tax. That means, the foreign income is the amount of the received international money transfer via any system (including SWIFT system, transfer systems such as Western Union, MoneyGram, etc., card systems such as VISA, MasterCard etc.).

Who and in what way should pay the tax?

The tax on the amount of received money transfers is to be paid by the individual receiving the transfer. The bank is not a withholding agent in payment of the amounts of transfers, that is, it does not deduct tax from the amount of the paid-out transfer and pays the transfer in full.

The individual receiving the transfer must independently include the amount of foreign income (international money transfers received) in the total annual taxable income and submit a tax return based on the results of the reporting tax year, to calculate and pay tax on such revenues to the budget.

What services does the bank provide in the field of express transfers?

Via PrivatMoney, Western Union, MoneyGram, INTELEXPRESS, RIA, you can send or receive a transfer.
Via the MEEST and Welsend systems, it is still only possible to receive a transfer.

What data of the transfer can be edited?

  • PrivatMoney - the recipient's full name;
  • Western Union - the recipient's full name, if the transfer is sent to the US, you can edit the state;
  • MoneyGram - the recipient's full name;
  • RIA - the recipient's full name;
  • INTELEXPRESS - the recipient's full name.

What is the procedure for solving disputes between participants and users of payment systems?

The procedure for solving disputes between participants and users.

The financial claims of customers (users of payment systems) are reviewed and answered directly by the Direct participant/Indirect participant (for the clients of the payment systems that he/she is served).

The Customer submits a claim to a Direct participant / Indirect participant. The participant conducts an appropriate investigation on the basis of this claim.

If necessary, the client shall provide the Direct participant / Indirect participant with the necessary documents confirming the claim. If required, JSC CB PRIVATBANK applies to the payment organization of the transfer system to resolve the client's claim.

Disputes between the Participants and / or users should not affect the execution of properly initiated money transfer transactions. The period of dispute resolution is from 1 to 120 banking days.

To send money transfers within the country you can use PrivatMoney and Western Union systems and you can transfer money only in UAH.

You can make a currency transfer by using SWIFT payment to your/your family member's account.

Is it possible to send/receive urgent funds transfer in foreign currency to the card in UAH?

Yes, by all channels, without time limitations.

Is it possible to receive a transfer in cash?

Yes, you can do it in a branch of PrivatBank. In order to receive cash, we recommend ordering a currency at a bank branch in Privat24 or calling the hotline 3700.

What are the express money transfers?

It is an instant transfer of funds by means of payment systems, which allows you to quickly, securely and efficiently carry out transfers both within the territory of Ukraine and abroad.

What are the limitations for residents when sending and receiving express money transfers within Ukraine?

Residents can send / receive transfers both in cash and with the opening of a card / account:

  • the client can send money in cash (without opening an account) - no more than UAH 150,000 per day;
  • with the opening of a card / account - no limitations.

You can receive transfers in cash without any daily limitations.

Express money transfers within Ukraine are not made in foreign currency.

Can non-residents send and receive money transfers?

Yes, in Ukraine money transfers can be sent and received by both permanent residents of our country and "guests" who are temporarily on the territory of Ukraine (non-residents).

What are the limitations for non-residents on pay-outs of express money transfers?

Within Ukraine:

A non-resident cannot receive a transfer within Ukraine in national currency to a card/account.

A pay-out is made only in cash at the bank branch.

Express money transfers within Ukraine are not made in foreign currency.

There are no limits on pay-out:

Transfers in foreign currency can be received in cash (the amount equivalent to UAH 150,000 inclusive) or to a card (the amount exceeding equivalent to UAH 150,000).

How do I return a transfer by myself?

To do this, you need to log in Privat24 "All services" - Transfers - New transfer archive, - to choose a transfer system, the type of a transaction - sending, select the required transfer from the list of transfers, click on the "return the transfer" button.

Will the fee be returned when the transfer is returned?

If you return the transfer on the day of its sending, the amount of the transfer and the fee will be returned.

If you return the transfer on the following days, the amount of the transfer will be returned, the fee will be returned only if it is returned by the transfer system

The transfer amount will be returned only to a card in the currency of the transfer;

The fee amount will be returned only to a card in UAH.

How long does it take to receive money when I return the transfer?

The funds will be returned to a sender's card instantly.

Exception: Western Union - the period of return is from 3 to 7 banking days.
