PrivatBank earned UAH 11.6 billion in the first half of the year. Profit from servicing clients and banking operations for 6 months of 2021 amounted to UAH 17.4 billion, which is 46% more than in the first half of 2020.

At the end of the first half of the year, the volume of clients' funds in the bank increased to UAH 305 billion or by 14% compared to the previous year. The number of active individual customers of PrivatBank for the first half of the year increased by 500 thousand, the customer base of entrepreneurs increased by 76 thousand, and the number of users of Privat24 increased by 1.2 million people. The increase in the customer base and the number of payment transactions increased the bank's commission income by 30% to UAH 10.6 billion.

Compared to the first half of last year, net interest income increased by 25% to UAH 13.3 billion. Compared to the fourth quarter of 2020, PrivatBank's loan portfolio increased by 6% to UAH 62.5 billion due to the expansion of credit opportunities for small and medium-sized businesses.

In the first half of 2021, the influence of macroeconomic factors, primarily increased yields on US Treasury bonds and the strengthening of the hryvnia, led to a negative revaluation of indexed domestic government bonds received as a contribution to the bank's share capital during the nationalization. The situational loss from this portfolio, unrelated to the bank's activity, amounted to UAH -6.9 billion for 6 months of 2021. At the same time, the positive impact of exchange rate fluctuations on the bank's results partially offsets these losses by UAH 1.3 billion.

It should be recalled that in June PrivatBank transferred UAH 11.9 billion in dividends to the state budget in full, aimed at paying the bank's shareholder, i.e. the state. According to the bank's Annual Report, its net profit for 2020 amounted to UAH 24.3 billion.
