PrivatBank has taken the next important step in implementing its Barrier-Free Strategy: from now on, customers can get advice in sign language at any PrivatBank branch. This unique, safe and accessible solution is an important part of the bank's efforts to build a barrier-free path for customers with hearing impairments.

From the first day, customers started using the new service, which has significantly increased the speed of resolving their requests. By improving existing services and introducing innovative solutions, PrivatBank sets an example and sets the tone for positive changes in the financial sector of Ukraine. Everyone has the right to decent service and equal access to financial products and services’ – said Olesya Zhulynska the Head of Public Relations and Communications.
To implement such a large-scale project, employees of PrivatBank branches took a basic course in Ukrainian sign language. Now, in each PrivatBank branch, service specialists will meet the client and arrange a video call with a contact centre operator who speaks sign language. Thus, customers who have not yet had the opportunity to receive advice through the Privat24 mobile application can visit any PrivatBank branch convenient for them and receive proper and confidential advice there without the need for an assistant or interpreter.
In 2024, PrivatBank launched Ukraine's first video consultation service in Ukrainian sign language in the Privat24 and Privat24 for Business banking applications, which was developed from scratch and implemented by the bank's specialists.
The PrivatBank mission on the way to barrier-free access is to create a space of unlimited opportunities for employees in work, education and social life, and for customers - guarantees of equal access to financial products and services without any form of discrimination and taking into account the interests of each person.
