A new government program is launching in Ukraine on March 20, 2026, which will allow citizens to receive compensation for fuel purchases. Customers of PrivatBank and Mastercard who use the "National Cashback" card will automatically receive a 5% to 15% compensation, allowing them to save from 2 to 11 UAH on every liter of fuel.
The state program aims to partially compensate citizens for the additional expenses associated with rising fuel prices. The fuel cashback rates are 15% for diesel fuel, 10% for gasoline, and 5% for autogas. The maximum fuel cashback amount is up to 1,000 UAH per month per person. The overall limit for the "National Cashback" program remains unchanged at up to 3,000 UAH per month for all purchases.
For existing PrivatBank "National Cashback" card users who have already activated the program in Diia, no additional actions are required. Fuel cashback will be credited automatically when paying at gas stations with the card linked to the program. The accumulated cashback will be displayed in the Diia application.
New participants only need to open a free digital "National Cashback" card in the Privat24 application with a few clicks. After ordering the card, they must separately grant permission for transaction processing on their cards and select this card in the Diia application to receive the accrued cashback.
The accumulated cashback funds can be spent on utility and postal services, the purchase of Ukrainian products, medicines, books, or donated to charity in the "Dobro" section on the bank's website and in Privat24.
Over one and a half years of the "National Cashback" program's operation at PrivatBank, more than 8.2 million Ukrainians have opened cards, and the total volume of Ukrainian goods purchased has exceeded 70 billion UAH.
