In 2026, with the support of PrivatBank, at least ten new Care Spaces will be opened in different regions of Ukraine, along with educational programs for veterans and women veterans focused on financial literacy and entrepreneurship skills development.

These initiatives are part of a strategic partnership launched by PrivatBank together with the Ministry for Veterans Affairs of Ukraine.

The partnership includes a few key areas: the creation of Care Spaces, the launch of financial literacy education and veteran entrepreneurship, the development of veteran sports, and joint work on creating career opportunities for veterans and women veterans in the financial sector.

“These initiatives are part of the bank’s broader systemic transformation in supporting veterans. It is important to us that every defender feels that the bank is changing, listening to their needs, and responding to their feedback. Systemic change does not happen overnight, but we are already on this path: we have launched a dedicated hotline for veterans and people with disabilities; formed a team that promptly addresses non-standard cases; and begun updating our procedures. We are preparing to launch an Inclusive Service Unit that will provide services in hospitals and medical facilities. Through cooperation with the Ministry, we will also create services that support veterans’ adaptation to civilian life,” said Mikael Björknert, Chairman of the Management Board of PrivatBank.

“For us, it is fundamentally important that support for veterans is built on responsible partnerships and a shared understanding of the needs of those who defended Ukraine and are returning to civilian life. The state, business, and society share responsibility for creating real opportunities — in education, employment, entrepreneurship, and recovery. It is this kind of cooperation that leads to sustainable solutions and genuine support for veterans, women veterans, and their families,” emphasized Nataliia Kalmykova, Minister for Veterans Affairs of Ukraine.

As part of the partnership, at least ten Care Spaces will be opened in medical institutions across different regions of Ukraine. The bank will help equip these spaces with furniture and equipment so that veterans and women veterans can receive consultations on guarantees and available opportunities directly on site, without leaving the hospital.

The Care Spaces will host the PrivatBank Inclusive Service Unit. Consultations will also be provided by representatives of structural units responsible for veterans’ policy, specialists supporting war veterans and demobilized persons, psychologists, lawyers, case managers, employment specialists, and other professionals according to the individual needs of service members and veterans.

Medical institutions participating in the project will also receive medical equipment for patient treatment. The equipment will be provided as part of the “Support for Medical Institutions and Hospitals” program run by the PrivatBank Corporate Charitable Foundation.

Currently, 17 such Care Spaces are already operating in Ukraine, opened by the Ministry for Veterans Affairs in cooperation with the Ministry of Health and other partners.

The second area of cooperation is the “Private Finance” educational program, launched by PrivatBank together with the Ministry for Veterans Affairs. The program will be available not only to veterans and women veterans, but also to their families — children, partners, and parents. During specialized camps, participants will be able to improve their financial literacy skills, including managing a family budget, protecting themselves from fraud, and starting or developing their own business.

The partnership also includes support for veteran sports as one of the most effective tools for physical and psychological rehabilitation. In particular, PrivatBank will act as a strategic partner and sponsor of national sports competitions and large-scale veteran tournaments.

The bank will also join another initiative of the Ministry for Veterans Affairs — “Veteran Career” and will post available job openings on the website https://work.veteranfund.com.ua/, so that veterans interested in working in the financial sector can learn about opportunities through this communication channel.

Details of the partnership were presented during a meeting with journalists by PrivatBank Chairman Mikael Björknert and Minister for Veterans Affairs Nataliia Kalmykova. The signing of the Memorandum formally marked the launch of this large-scale initiative.
